Event
This week in Broomfield: September 14–20
Mon, September 14 at 12:00 AM
City Council will review plans this week for an electric vehicle charging station at 13892 Via Varra in the Broomfield Business Center. The proposed site would include six high-speed dual-port chargers serving twelve public stalls and a small amenity building for people waiting while their vehicles charge. The concept review is scheduled for the study session on Tuesday, September 15 at 6:00 PM.
Broomfield is also updating its housing strategy this week. The city commissioned a Supplemental Housing Needs Assessment that consolidates recent housing data and community priorities to guide future policy decisions. Council will review the assessment and the status of an inclusionary housing ordinance—which typically requires or incentivizes affordable units in new development—at the same Tuesday study session.
Budget planning moves forward on Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 PM, when department heads will present their spending proposals for Council review. A separate agenda item on that night addresses ward and boundary review, though details on that discussion were not yet finalized.
The Police Department will also brief Council on victim services work at a study session on Tuesday, September 8.
Residents interested in the EV charging proposal or housing assessment can attend the study session Tuesday, September 15 at 6:00 PM. The budget presentations are open to the public Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 PM. All meetings are held at City Council chambers; specific times and location details are available on the city website.
